Committed to continue to contribute positively for the environment wherever located, PT. Kino Indonesia, Tbk (KINO) held Kino Go Green 2017 program at R-Soerjo Forest Park, the largest source of springs for Pasuruan community, which was caused by forest fire several years ago, 12 sources of springs in Mount Arjuna died and leaving only 16 water sources. If this deforestation continues, the supply of clean water to almost 2 million people in Pasuruan district, and 4.7 thousand Ha of irrigated rice fields can be threatened.
Concerned about this situation, PT. Kino Indonesia, Tbk, launched Kino Go Green, a conservation program that uses a forestry management model that involves the community, which aims to conserve water storage areas while improving living standards of forest edge communities.
The planting and maintenance of 3,000 trees on a 5-hectare land area is done in collaboration with the Tahura Farmer Group to start seedling, planting and maintaining trees grown for 3 (three) years. The planted seeds are jungle tree mixture that is easy to grow and also has a selling value, such as Genitri, Matoa, Kemiri, Kluwek, Klerek.
This year 2017 will be the third time Kino Go Green implementation, and implemented as part of continuous social responsibility activities. Through this program, Kino hopes the Kino Go Green program not only preserving nature but also helps to improve the economy of the surrounding community.
