Kino Indonesia, Tbk, again held Kino Youth Innovator 2017 themed Advancing Indonesia Through Local Heritage. This annual competition aims to motivate and pass on the spirit of innovation that has long been become the soul of PT. Kino Indonesia, Tbk.
Entering the MEA (ASEAN economic society), world industry competition, economy and labor is getting tighter. In this era, the flow of goods, services, trained labor and investment flow will be more free. However, on the other hand, the MEA will be a challenge and an opportunity for the Indonesian nation. Therefore, to get this opportunity, it is necessary to prepare innovative skilled manpower.
Kino Youth Innovator Award (KYIA) was first held in 2016. As an annual innovation competition, KYIA is targeting new ideas from students all over Indonesia. When in 2016 the theme of Build Up A Glocal Innovation, this year Kino again invites young people to promote local resources (local heritage) which is very rich and superior to win in the market competition.
As a part of KYIA activity, Kino also held talkshows at 5 universities in Indonesia, including Gajah Mada University (21 Feb), Bogor Agricultural University (2 March), Padjadjaran University Bandung (10 March), Atma Jaya University (14 March), and Satyawacana University (March 23).
The implementation of Kino Youth Innovator Award 2017 is divided into 3 phases: Assessment, Final Defense and Awarding. The Assessment phase opens opportunities for students to submit innovative ideas that contain innovative products ranging from raw materials used, production processes until how the product is marketed. On April 24, 2017, this Assessment phase has been closed. 200 innovation proposals from students in 36 universities in Indonesia were collected.
The competition of Kino Youth Innovator Award is one of responsibility of PT. Kino Indonesia, Tbk as a local Indonesian company, to support the creation of creative young Indonesian children, dare to innovate and competitive in the era of free market.
